Re: Never too late to change ! Walking path in Monterey
Since your not averse to reworking a painting, and I share that viewpoint (see my daubs) ,I think your almost there with this one, but I have a problem with the little lagoon which is " stood up " .That's the only way I know of describing water which doesn't appear to lie flat. Please dont think I,m being nasty, I too suffer this problem in my paintings , and it takes subtle horizontal indicators to eradicate. In general you have achieved a very fine painting.

Re: Never too late to change ! Walking path in Monterey
Well ,
the best way i can think of describing it is :-
to introduce linear horizontal wave patterns and corresponding rock formations that that emphasize the fact that the landscape and therefore the water contained by its boundaries are in reality flat, horizontal and receding with respect to the viewer.
Its a lot easier to type it than to achieve it !!

Re: Never too late to change ! Walking path in Monterey
I must say thank you, thank you, thank you Wilt. It has been bugging me since the beginning, and all I needed is one person to point it out I hope you like the change. I like it, and now I am really done! The image is darker because of the evening....sorry.

You are not going to believe this. My client let me know, she is unable to pay me for it....... Lovely. Well luckily I have another client in the wings who loves it and wants it. Just love this business. I wish I could just paint and not deal with the world, Nicki

Love watching the changes, I think it takes guts to make major changes like that, but the result is a truly fantastic painting! Congrats on the sale, too!
