I think I'm the first to post in this project! Just a progress entry tho, so don't get excited ... it could still turn out rubbish I was breaking my head over a still life composition problem and taking it all rather seriously and I decided I needed to do something fun, no pressure. You took some lovely photos, Mark ~ hope the whole forum signs up for this one!

Well, I'm done. It's not a stunner, Mo, but I had fun doing it It turned out sort of like a William Morris design ~ not terribly 3D but quite decorative. How anyone gives volume and depth to their subjects on Canson Mi-Teintes is a perplexing mystery as far as I'm concerned ... the holes! the HOLES!! ... I will dream tonight of little holes.

E-J Super flowers... have you tried the smooth side of Cansons yet...no holes there, do you know when I saw your progress shot, I thought William Morris too, but declined saying, as I didn't want to influence you on the finished piece......a few years ago I went to the V&A in London to see the William Morris Exhibition, it was 1996, 100 years after his death..still have the sketchbook I bought there at the time..

Cheers,
Mo.

Hi Smudge, first of all thanks for posting and sharing these, second i seem to be spoilt for choice so many nice pics, flowers always look so beautiful and yet so delicate and i find it hard to achieve that effect when trying to paint flowers, but what the eck lets give it a go off to sign up but might take a while deciding which one.
