Croton Leaves

We've had this plant for over 10 yrs. This summer was really hot and it just kinda blew up. So many colorful leaves. Had to paint it.

8x10 on Uart paper.

WIP shots and the actual painting. The final painting picture was taken with a better camera so the colors look different than the other shots taken with my phone.

C&C welcome.

Very nice. Beautiful colors. Is it from life?

Re: Croton Leaves

Tanja - Thanks! Sort of. I work in the basement so I took pictures and worked from that but every now and then I'd look at the plant as well.

Bren - Thanks!

I wouldn't have known how to attack that complex subject - thanks for the WIP! Crotons have such wonderful colors!

Re: Croton Leaves

Thanks Elle and Melinda. Yeah there are so many different colors and they are so bright that it's a wonderful subject to paint.
