Re: Stuff I See (around here)

I just went through the whole thread (could not stop, actually) - your bird and turtle sketches are great! And I love to read the stories which go with your sketches. I am living in Berlin - no chance to see any turtle outside the Zoo!

Re: Stuff I See (around here)

Hey Guys!

Joan, Dr D, Poochemio, Ulla, Elain, Rainy......Thanks for the comments!

Next up is the Brown Anole. This was done from a picture posted
over at the WDE forum.

These guys are everywhere around here. They are an invasive species.
Originally native to Cuba and the Bahamas. They are outcompeting the
native species- the Carolina Anole. These guys are always brownish, whereas
the Carolina Anoles change colors from yellowish green to dark green to brown, depending on their mood!

Thanks for looking!

DougN

Good job on the anole and the spoonbill! I am anxious to see Spoonbills on a trip I'm taking in the fall that will include some time on the Gulf Coast. They would be a new species for my life list.

Re: Stuff I See (around here)

Hey Guys!

Thanks to all who stopped by......and those who made a
comment! It is much appreciated!

A coupla weeks ago, I was out looking for photo ops and
I noticed these old dudes fishing under the bridge. So I asked
them if they would mind if I took some pictures of them. They
didn't care. So I took a bunch of shots and a few of them even turned
out ok. These guys were excellent subject matter and if I was a better photgragher.... They even offered me to join them with a beer but as I was on my bike, I figured that I better politely decline it.

It did this one across 2 pages of the 3.5x5 that I've been using for this thread. Not really satisfied how it come out but.....here it is anyway. As
you can probably tell I did a bit of extra cropping on this.

Thanks for looking! (C&C appreciated)
