Thank you all very much. Marie, in the photo the eye was almost completely closed. I had to use my imagination to open it a little. I agree, but really did not know how to change it and still have the attitude of being pretty much asleep.
Ali, thank you, not sure about the neck. Followed the photo pretty much to the last degree. If it is wrong, then the photo was perhaps a little off with regards to perspective. That does happen sometimes but do not have enough experience with donkey anatomy to really comment!! Perhaps someone can put me right. Just did my best!!
Elaine, you are absolutely right. I had a small problem with the values. I realised the values could be more pronounced and gave it a try but I had saturated the paper and just could not get anymore darks going.. This is one of the main reasons why I wasn't really happy with the finish. Glad you noticed and picked that up.
Awwhh, JohanneL, you have just made me feel a lot better and now I have decided to forget about the problems in this work and get a good night's sleep.
