Hails from United States
Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter wip: figure on beach

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: wip: figure on beach
Year Created: 2003
Medium: Oil
Surface: Wood
Dimension: 48 x 60 inches
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
This is a new painting that I'm working on. I'm trying to be looser and more intuitive in my approach to the figure.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
the values are too close together in the firgure. this said, does the image hold together or do I need to establish a wider rangeof values?

Oh this is cool!

I like the colors a LOT.

Love the face and the pants.. especially the loose way you painted the green of the pants over the brown underpainting.

Zek, just skitter some light across that water and call it done. The loose style looks great!

Since it is in progress, I look forward to seeing the development. It's a terrific start. I like your keeping tru to being loose with your markmaking.

VanGogh began many of his painting this way...

I made a few adjustments today. I think it's close to being done--- but I am now thinking about the water. Perhaps it does need some reflected light...

anyway, here's the latest version

This is a monumental piece.
The sheer size allows for a more limited tonal range while still creating amazing impact.
I personally would love to see this 'in-person',..as I'm sure that it NEEDS to be viewed in all it's glory.
Really powerful work. Great Job...............

love the composition
loose flow of pose and pants
feel of the sun and surf
expression

(the nipple areas do seem off...
but he may be this way...?)

over all an extremely pleasing piece
love that it is large
