Re: Motor madness

Sue- have admired your car pix for years, some of these look familiar, but that is OK. You shoot the way I do, just you have such a good camera compared to mine.

Thanx for sharing these with us

life is good

Re: Motor madness

Thanks, Greg. You shoot pretty good, even if you yearn for a better camera. A lot of my pics are from the old P&S.

Here's more older ones. Pretty soon the local car club will start up their Show and Shines - maybe I'll check it out next Wednesday.

Re: Motor madness

Flawless, but that was a typo- this is a 1935 model year.

Re: Motor madness

LOL, Greg. Not so much a typo as old eyes trying to decipher a bad photo

Those photos were from the first car show I went to here - and I went because the driver of this vehicle was acting like a real idiot on the highway, dodging in and out of lanes and jumping traffic. I wanted to see where he was going and ended up at the car show.

I am smarter now when I go to these. I don't know what most of the vehicles are but in a perfect world they all have identifying signs. The photo above is a heavy crop from a full size car pic. Now the first thing I shoot - before I take pics of the cars) is the sign that says what it is - and every pic after that is of that vehicle until I take another car ID sign pic, etc.

So now I get this ... the sign for reference and the pics to go with it ...

Re: Motor madness

Sue,
That is a very good idea.

I think at car shows they should have the information about the car posted on a sign that sticks in the ground near the car so that we photograph lovers can take pictures of the cars without those INFO signs messing up our compostions. And I am also thinking that that they don't much care about what I am thinking!

Re: Motor madness

Before I found WC I just took photos for me.
Now I ALWAYS take a pix of the info card.
If there is not one I look at the license plate which is often from the year the car was made.

Re: Motor madness

This is one of the best pix I have seen in a while. I am amazed it still exists on such a busy small island. The sea salt air has taken it's toll, will be 'recycled' completely soon.

Re: Motor madness

just a few for Sunday perusing, these were all taken prior to becoming (slightly more) organized, so none of these contained ID info on the exact model/year etc

enjoy the day

Re: Motor madness

I shoot the best and leave the rest....

Perhaps instead of interesting cars perhaps look for interesting reflections, angles, shapes and so on.... even a Nissan has SOME visual interest?

Re: Motor madness

Hi birdhs,
I don't have any imagination for that kind of thing, so I'll stick to the total car thingy. Actually got off my butt today and stuck my head out the door, geez there's a whole new world out there with cars.

A ute or two, a common car out this way often seen cruising the streets or grazing around hotels looking for a mate.

Re: Motor madness

What an interesting vehicle, never seen one of these. Reminds of the old Ford Ranchero / Chevy El Camino. Nice looking vehicle. What is it called? I see it is a Ford.
