Fashion...
Not sure of the title yet, but this is an 8x10. The black lines are from ink.
I just applied the first layer and smoothed everything. Will then go back over with gamsol to blend more.

Re: Fashion...
The only thing bugging me so far is the bag. I wanted a bit of red in it to match the shoes, but may add some more black and ultramarine blue.

Re: Fashion...
Pretty much done here. Tried oil paint instead of acrylic this time. Much harder to use for the outlines.
Will let sit overnight before changing anything else.
My only question for you all is if the white on the background works? I toned it down with some blues, brown, and greys, but I'm still not sure. I don't want it to be to blinding to take away from the woman.

Re: Fashion...
Very artistic, Alan. I like the colors and even though the silhouette right behind her is not gray, it actually works better because it blends well with the wall or it'll be a painting of the girl and her shadow. Now, it's a painting of the girl in blinding light that she has to squint. No, just kidding. I know you don't like to do eyes. It's stylish that way with just simple features. I'm now imagining there's a guy further up the steps because of the white lit patch on the wall...a little bit like lighting in a musical.
The shoe nearer to the viewer looks a bit too loose at the back. I'm afraid it might come off on the next step. Perhaps tone down the white on the handbag nearer to the wall. That side doesn't have as much direct light. Similarly, the back of her shoulder could use a tiny bit less white.

Re: Fashion...
Gakinme (Sandra) and Ree, thanks. Haha, no she isn't walking in blinding light . I'll play around with the shoe a bit and the white highlights.
As for the face, this morning with a fresh eye, I'm not liking the nose and eyebrows. May change them a bit or even delete it altogether. Do you think a blank face would work?

Re: Fashion...
Cory, I'm liking it. I wouldn't add anymore detail to the face.
It is quite a nice piece.

Re: Fashion...
I'm glad you changed the handbag. The original looked like it was wearing a bra. I agree about the shoe on the left appearing to be two large in the back. The white on the wall may be a tad bright and compete with the lady for attention. I like this piece. Maybe you could name it, "Stepping Up."

Re: Fashion...
Another nice painting, Cory. I like the face, and wouldn't mess with it. I do think the left arm is a little long, the white doesn't really take away from the figure for me.

Re: Fashion...
Hey, thanks all! I did change the closest shoe a bit, and will add a pic asap. I left the face alone.
