***Daily Wash Sunday 8th April 2012***
Happy Easter.
Lazy start to the day here. Lazy morning ... mucking up perfectly good paper, better afternoon after siesta, planting out what seems like half a million onions. If they all grow we shall reek!! The number of garlics planted are excessive too but ? Everything deserves a chance at life.
During the siesta hours I once again fell for the kindle store. Finish one, start another. Better than being trapped in a library. Me the great doubter and paper lover
Roast chicken with lemon and garlic tonight.
Special hugs for Darla and family.
Gail too.
Those Kiwis should be being flogged at dominoes again Lucky the Elliots know how to let them win a few to keep their chins up. Bit like the rugby?
Ducking and running now ......

Re: ***Daily Wash Sunday 8th April 2012***
Hi all, replete and satisfied with many chocolates etc under the skin . (Hope clothes are in stretching mode.)
annie, on the other hand, my paper is pristine, white, unmarked by any brush wielding - won't be for long, painting is on the agenda in the LONI.
Bit more sorting and packing this morning then off to the kids place for lunch (and chocolates ) Our Grandaughter said "Oma, why do you have to go away in the winter" . Hard to explain to a 6 year old that you have to do it while you still can. there is plenty of time after that to sit around waiting for god.
hubby washed and waxed the car before visiting today.
House and grounds still look like a nuclear disaster.
tomorrow am going to enquire into a telstra turbo prepaid mobile broadband dooverlacky to put into the computer in the LONI in the hope that the LONI will become the LOSI. Won't know until we get there whether it is going to work better this year, but I know I am not up to running up to the top of sandhills, trying to get a signal .

Good Day All,
Still quite dark, but managed to feed Ms. Feral while she swiped and hissed. Ungrateful cat.
Annie, I like my ereader but still can't resist the library just to browse.
One more warm, sunny day then cooler and rainy for a couple. I'll be able to finish taxes then.
Coffee time,
Bill

Re: ***Daily Wash Sunday 8th April 2012***
A very eventful day.......of sorts.......
Church this morning was fantastic, big crowd, then took the Elliots to a brunch at Narrows Landing, the food was great but the service........4 courses and after an hour and a half we had had only one.....complained to the duty manager and he couldn't see a problem! oh well.......went on to see the movie Marigold Hotel - what a fabulous movie! Had to have another game of dominoes tonight to hopefully fly the flag for the Sthern Hemisphere.......lost lol Oh well, as it said in the movie, in the end it doesn't matter......and it doesn't:-) But I think with limited time to redeem ourselves we should now play two games of dominoes a day
Happy Easter everyone!
Three more sleeps...

Re: ***Daily Wash Sunday 8th April 2012***
Good Morning all,
It is almost 7:15 a.m. here in overcast but dry Oakwood. Supposed to be a nice day today for the urchins and their Easter egg hunts.
Enjoyed our first shish kebab dinner in a while last night. Here it is ready to go under the broiler. Got those skewers a long time ago now when we were stationed in Turkey. Bring back fond memories.
Bill,
Guess Ms Feral is having a bad day if she starts off spitting and hissing at you.
Nola,
Great philosophy about doing things while you are still physically able to enjoy them. Fresh paint makes everything look new again, eh. Hope your gizmo works so you'll be able to stay in touch with us.
Annie,
You can never have too much garlic. That's my belief anyway.
Lulu,
Sounds like the England contingent is being merciless in the great Dominoes battles.
Hi Geoff and JJ
Beaming white light to Gail so her pain goes away and she can begin the healing process.
to all who are on their way.
SYL,
Sylvia

Re: ***Daily Wash Sunday 8th April 2012***
Hi to all - We are up and getting ready for church this morning. Our daughter wants to go to the early traditional service today, so that's what we plan to do. It will work out better because we are having friends over later this afternoon for dinner.
Yesterday was a good day for me, although it had nothing to do with art. A day spent making and listening to music. Here is a photo of me playing, and wearing one of my favorite hats. With all the skin cancers that keep popping up it is almost a requirement if I am going to be in the sun at all. Fortunately, I like hats and have a lot of them.
Sylvia, that shish kebab looks really good!
Hoping Gail is continuing to improve rapidly.
Lulu, I know that none of you are looking forward to the visit coming to an end. Our DD and GD leave Tuesday, and I won't see them again until September. At least DW is flying out in May to visit while I am away in Texas.
I just noticed the temperature is cool again this morning. I should have tried to get in a morning run, but after the loooong day yesterday I slept in until 0630. And a nap is definitely planned for later today.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Late to bed but have been setting the breakfast table with dominoe hands.........naturally the worst hands gravitated to Doug and Ruth's seating plaes at the table..........It's definitely juggling tomorrow! lol
Nite all, nearly falling a sle p at the kepboard

Re: ***Daily Wash Sunday 8th April 2012***
Good Morning Everyone!!!
Probably around freezing again, I can't be sure because for some reason the weather station link won't open on the computer today. Anyway, once again I forgot to put the heating back on and it was 16C in the house when I woke up. We are expecting another nice, warmish and sunny day.
After table tennis yesterday my artist neighbour came for a lengthy visit, then I sat outside and read for a while before going for dinner at the kids place.
Today I'm going to Connie's for brunch and then heading to Toronto for my DIL's big family Easter dinner, so that will be nice.
I'll try and give Gail a call before I go and really, REALLY hope her pain has subsided
Darla I am so sorry the news about your dad wasn't more positive.
Sylvia, the shish kebab look very inviting!!!
Nola, whatever the dohicki is called, I hope it works so you can stay in touch!!
JJ, I am enjoying one of Clive Cussler's novels, thanks for the author's name!!
Bill, so Ms. Feral is having a hissy fit, temperamental kitty
Lulu, yes time goes so quickly when you are having fun.
Doug, really looking forward to seeing all of your sketches!!
Annie, you and Roger are going to be VERY healthy with all those onions and garlic cleansing your blood!!!
to Geoff and wishing you all a good Easter Sunday!!!
Edit: Don, we cross posted. Great photo of you, and even better is to hear that you had a good time!!!!! Enjoy your afternoon activities.

Re: ***Daily Wash Sunday 8th April 2012***
Happy Easter Sunday Washer Buds... naturally, after two beautiful sunny days, we're expecting rain.
I laid in bed awhile later than usual this morning... I found that place that's so warm and comfy you just don't want to move. Except... Tux was not pleased and stretched out on my chest, purring and nudging my hand... Skittles curled up on my legs, batting Tux's tail... I got up...
We have reservations for brunch right after lunch. (That sounds dopey... Our time is booked for 1:30 p.m.) We'll pick up my Mother and meet my Sister and her husband at the restaurant... I'm hoping we won't have to dodge rain drops.
I have no plans for this morning (because I don't have to cook anything... ) so perhaps I'll paint up a couple of cards... I made cream filled eggs for everyone, but I think my Mother and Sister would enjoy a quickly painted line and wash... and, I get to paint...
I'm hoping that Gail had a better night... I'll call her later on just to make sure... She's chomping at the bit to go home, but that's not going to happen until she can walk herself back and forth to the washroom... AND climb stairs...
Annie... I peel, chop and freeze our garlic... it's so good (and handy)... and healthy...
Hi Geoff... see you tomorrow...
Nola, I sure hope the wifi thingmabob works to keep you in LOSI... I at the nuclear disaster of your yard... my kitchen seems to always look that way...
Ms. Feral is having a bad morning, eh, Bill? I bought our tax software. It's still in the box...
The games are ON... Lulu, service at restaurants on major holidays can be trying, I think...
Hiya Syl... your kebabs look delicious... do you suppose that only foodies and artists photograph their food? I love those beautiful skewers!
Don, what a fabulous photo of you doing what you do! You need to paint a self portrait... great hat...
Hi Uschi... Clive Cussler was one of my favourite authors until he began co-authoring... My Sons have always been fans and we trade books... I have Cyclops on my coffee table... Your Easter plans sound nice... I'll wait to call Gail later on in the day if you're planning to talk with her this morning...
So... If I'm going to paint cards, I guess I'd better log off here... I sure hope you have a wonderful day filled with love and laughter... be creative...

Re: ***Daily Wash Sunday 8th April 2012***
Hi Ona!! Love how your new painting is coming along
Well, I talked to Gail. and She certainly is a lot chirpier than she was when I talked to her two days ago, BUT, the pain isn't much better. She said she gets two pills, one is a fast acting one and the other a slower onset and longer lasting and it seems the quick onset one isn't working so until the other one kicks in (about two hours later) she is in a lot of pain.
Her movements are very limited because of the pain. I told her to grit her teeth to get through it because this too will pass, let's hope it'll pass quickly
Char, your cards are originals and very pretty, I am sure you'll ink in a few easter eggs
Oh, when I was over at the kids last night Ethan (9) declared to me that he KNOWS the Easter Bunny isn't real and he KNOWS that the Toothfairy isn't real either, but he KNOWS for SURE that Santa Claus is definitely real As Pat would say - bless him
The high expected today is 17C, I heard on the radio that right now it is only 2C. That sun better work quickly!!!!

Re: ***Daily Wash Sunday 8th April 2012***
everyone! HAPPY EASTER ! for those that celebrate. Starting out sunny here, if it is going to rain I hope it gets it over today so tomorrow is OK....egg hunt and party with my family here for the first time. So some baking, am practising 1812 cookie recipes (and making apple crisp for those that are not so sure about the cookies!). We have the activity room booked so we can all fit in.
Thinking of Gail and Darla
Must get a bunch of stuff done, so I will say what Char and Uschi said so well
All the best
