Re: 2nd Portrait

This shows how much work I need on getting a likeness! It's actually supposed to be Steve McQueen in "The Towering Inferno" from a pic I got off the web.I have to learn to take more measurements.
I love Kirk too though,Glad you liked it!

Re: 2nd Portrait

Hey, thanks Sam! You use Gimp too? I'm working on my 4th portrait now and getting a little better grip on what it can do. From what I have heard, it's similar to Photoshop, but it's free! Can't beat that. The only thing is, my hand gets numb using the mouse.
Thanks again, glad you saw McQueen there

Re: 2nd Portrait

Whoa there!! You did this just using a mouse? That's even more impressive! Yes I use GIMP but also use a WACOM Bamboo tablet. I love GIMP although only use so little of it.

Re: 2nd Portrait

Hey Sam, this is crazy, I have in front of me a brand new Bamboo Pen & Touch in the box. My brother in-law just lent it to me, he never even used it yet.
Have have no idea what it's about, it says it comes with Photoshop Elements 8.0.
Can you use this Bamboo with Gimp? I haven't down loaded the software yet. The screen on the Bamboo is pretty small. I have a 20 in. Mac, so I'm used to a little more real estate.
Thanks for any tips about the Bamboo

Re: 2nd Portrait

I immediately saw him as Steve McQueen because of his distinctive upper lip.

Oh yeah, and the blue blue eyes!

Nice

Re: 2nd Portrait

Thanks Ciel, yea, the eyes are what made me want to paint this. Plus I've loved McQueen since "The Blob"
Thanks for looking.

As soon as I saw it I saw Steve McQeen. The eyes are what did it for me. No mistake. Great work!

Very nice, It has the feel as if I am looking right onto a tv monitor. I also knew it was Steve McQeen right off the bat.
