A Silly Paper Question

Please pardon this silly question. What is cartridge paper? I see a lot of people referring to I think it's A4 cartridge paper. Thanks in advance.

Cartridge paper is a high quality type of heavy paper used for illustration and drawing. It was originally used for making weaponry cartridges

Re: A Silly Paper Question

A) There are no silly questions!
B) Thanks for asking because I didn't know either!
3) Where can cartridge paper be bought? I love trying out new papers and textures.

Re: A Silly Paper Question

Thanks so much, RoadLessTaken. Yes, I too wonder where it is sold. I've never seen it at my local art store. Does anyone know?

Re: A Silly Paper Question

Here is an old Wet Canvas discussion about cartridge paper:

http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55768

I noticed in the past that the only people I ever saw refer to it were non-U.S. English-speakers. I don't know if it's available in this country, but it sounds like there are some drawing papers that are similar.
