Re: Viviens STILLMAN AND BIRN experiments

Thanks Debby and Joan

I'd love to have caught the storm I got caught up in yesterday - really dark suddenly - horizontal sheets of rain and hail bouncing 2 foot up off the car - the car in front (in the town so slow moving luckily) only slightly visible as blurry lights, no vision beyond a few feet otherwise - more like the tropics. The roads were nearly a foot deep in water as the drains couldn't cope with the sheer volume of rainfall.

Re: Viviens STILLMAN AND BIRN experiments

thanks John

I meant to take my sketchbook to a big family meal yesterday - it's as well I didn't though as it was far too busy to have any chance to sketch. Fun though. I want to do more sketches of him

Re: Viviens STILLMAN AND BIRN experiments

That sounds like quite a storm! Too bad you weren't able to sketch the sky.

Re: Viviens STILLMAN AND BIRN experiments

I would have loved to have been able to catch it

Just to prove I've managed to get something sketched - even if not very well - here are some sketches while waiting today.

Gamma sketchbook

Rotring pen for the top right one - stopped using it as I wasn't enjoying it and the man moved away.

The 2 larger ones are those watersoluble, double ended felt pens.

Waterbrush

and then I moved onto my Parker jotter biro (ballpoint) for a couple more of the woman crocheting. I simply couldn't keep up with the movement of her hands.

Gotta watch those women who crochet, they are really fast. Great practice sketches.

I like the page filled with all the different gestures. That alone makes for a very interesting looking page to me.
