I love the Beefeater! But that is choosing favorites, all or your architectural sketching is showing itself here, with Big Ben and tower bridge, a delightful spread.

Re: IFJM - The Magic Feather

Rainy - Thank you. I'm having fun with this. A magic feather would be a fun thing to have.

Debby - Thanks. I wanted to link the pages with the border and feather.

Mickey - Thanks!!

Margo - Sometimes I have a hard time narrowing down what to include. lol I guess that was why doing Venice last year seemed easier. Thanks.

The magic feather is in my hand and I am in Rome. This is a city filled with history, wonderful art and architecture, and food and wine. What a combination!

I am in awe of all the artwork on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. My senses are on overload. Bellissimo!

I toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain. That guarantees that I will return to Rome.

After an exhausing day of walking, I head over to the Piazza Navona. There are street performers entertaining the crowd. I am ready to sit at an outdoor table, have some vino, and just experience the spirit of the city before I must say, "Arrivederci Roma!"

More wonderful pages of London and Rome. Your Sistine Chapel is amazing, so good. Great to see you relaxing with some vino too.

That feather is something! Of course it would be nothing without your artistic abilities.

Wow, I need to catch up with the journey of the magic feather more often! I've missed several wonderful locations on the planet! These are all really well done.

Re: IFJM - The Magic Feather

Rainy, Mickey, Jacqui, Margo, Debby, Helen, Leslie, and John - Thanks so much for your comments and traveling with me. My neck is still stiff from looking up for so long to paint the Sistine Chapel. I used Google Street Maps to find a photo of the cafe. I had been there, but couldn't find a photo of the background of it.

I kept up with my travels over the weekend, even though I was really busy. I knew if I missed a day I would have trouble catching up.

April 7
This week marks both Easter and Passover. Before I know it, the magic feather brings me to Jerusalem.
The Old City of Jerusalem is sacred to many faiths. I am visiting a few special places.

The Western Wall, or Wailing Wall is one of the most famous places in Jerusalem. Thousands of prayers and notes are left in the crevices of the rock wall. I leave my prayer too.

Over the Western Wall on the right I can see the Dome of the Rock. It sits where the prophet Mohammed is said to have ascended to heaven.

The Via Dolorosa is the street believed to be the path Jesus walked as he carried his cross. Many people follow the path.

I have shared Jerusalem with people of all faiths today. I will take its peaceful energy home with me.

The magic feather has brought me to the Great Wall of China. I always thought that the wall was continuous, but it isn't. It is a collection of small walls that go on for 5.500 miles.

This section is a little less crowded than some parts, but there are still a lot of people hiking along the wall.

I hope I am in good enough shape! This is really steep!! There is no place along this section to buy food or drink, so the magic feather has provided the supplies I need.

There is a cable car if you decide not to walk. But I am walking.

From the wall I have great views of many of the other sections, the mountainks, and Mutianyu the village below us. It is great.

I have been hiking for several hours now and I really can't go much farther. My legs are killing me! I can either walk back down the stairs or take this toboggan-like ride down. I'm opting for the ride. See you at the bottom.

I reach the bottom of the wall and the magic feather takes me back home.

After yesterday's strenuous climb, I'm dreaming of white sand beaches and relaxing in the warm sun. I open my eyes and I am in Maui on a secluded beach holding the magic feather.

The flowers are gorgeous! There are birds of paradise, plumeria, antheriums, and hibiscus everywhere.

The most active thing I want to do is go snorkeling. I can see so many colorful tropical fish. The water here is so clear and warm.

There is a platter of tropical fruits and a pina colada within reach. This is the life!

Maybe I'll go take part in that hula class.

I am feeling so much better today...my eyes close and I start to drift off...and suddenly I am home again.
