IFJM - The Magic Feather

I am using a Strathmore Visual Journal for this month's journal.
It is funny but I have been planning out the idea and pages for a few days. It is more work doing this than a regular journal. I also have to contend with questions from my hubby who thinks I need to make it make perfect sense. I keep telling him there is only so much info I can put on a page.

The basic concept is that the journal owner has found a magic feather with the ability to take her to different places.
Here is my title page and the first page of my adventure. I will type the text after I post the pictures becuase it may be too hard to read it from the pages.

I bought a wooden box at a flea market. The lid wouldn't open there, but when I got home it opened easily. Inside was a delicate feather.
Underneath the feather was a worn printed card that said:

The Magic Feather
This feather holds some magic,
Trust it and you will see,
The wonders of the world
That wait for thee.

Use it to travel
Far and wide
Where you would like to go
Is hidden inside.

Close your eyes and dream of a place. The feather will take you there.

Is this real...or is it a joke?

I did start a new blog page for this.

WOW, I love this, Joan! How very cool. . . I want a magic feather

Can't wait to read of your adventures this month. Great that you've already started your blog too. . . will you be sharing with Roz once you get the needed five posts?

Your first pages are great

BTW, how did you do that neat two color border on the title page?

Re: IFJM - The Magic Feather

Debby - Thanks. I hope I get to go to lots of places.

Rainy - Thank you. I will share it with Roz when I get 5 posts done. I taped off a narrow opening around the page with painter's tape. Then I varied the color inside ala Cathy Johnson.

Mickey - Thanks. I guess it is good that I collect all kinds of things so I had a feather ready to use.

Helen - Thank you!

Margo - Thanks. I can do places I've been as well as places I want to go.

Cat1lady - Thanks!!

Jacqui - The planning seems to be taking over my life. lol Thanks.

Re: IFJM - The Magic Feather

April 2

This morning I gave the feather a try and found myself in Monet's garden in Giverny, France. Look...here is his house with the big porch and the green shutters. There are beds of flowers in bloom in every direction I can see. I am in heaven!
Walking along the path I see this sign
NYMPHEAS ->
I follow the signs through the tunnel that goes under the street. I come out on the other side by the pond, the Japanese bridge, and my favorites...the nympheas or waterlillies!!!

I was exhausted from seeing everything, so I sat down on a bench. Before I knew it I was back home.

That is fantastic!!

I don't think mine will be quite so pretty, these farmer people can't hardly read let alone write.

Re: IFJM - The Magic Feather

I was wondering where the feather would take you on your first trip. Monet's garden, just perfect the idea and the sketch.
