Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
Hi,
LOL Carol.
Must agree with Maureen and Patti, Agnes lovee, I can see it now..haha
Had a nice time with my DIL, Nicky got so tall in only a few months and yesterday was Fred's 19th birthday, he didn't get to come with them tho, maybe he'll show up with Mark in June.
Been actually nice round here for a couple of days, nice to get outside. Then last night we had thunder and lightening and rain that came down in what seemed like one solid sheet of water, so loud it woke me up. Mother Nature finally catching up to the April showers thing, all at once I guess. Such a dry winter, all of the reservoirs round here were showing more bank then I've ever seen before. Suppose to rain for the next three days but doesn't look like it at the moment, sun's trying to come out today.
Hi Katherine get your window fixed yet? to Tracey too if you're peekin in,
Meryl, all the peeps. Just about to leave for Mass and wanted to say hi.
Hope everyone's Sunday is a pleasant one.
I will catch ya all later then,
Hugs all round,
Elaine

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
Hi all.
The good news this week... we had rain yesterday and last night.
The bad news is... we lost another neighbor. His heart just gave out and wouldn't work anymore - not a heart attack. He has been fighting for the last year but lost the battle. It's depressing, lost one on the right side, one to the left and one across the street. Makes me feel old and sad.

Yes Patti, understand how you feel - we had a patch like that in the 2 weeks before Christmas - a friend and then 2 friends, wife and then husband.
Makes you think of your own mortality!

Sorry to hear that Patti, I know how you feel, hugs sweetie.
Just about to shut down for the evening and wanted to see who was about.
Still raining here but more gentle then it started out, so spent a cozy day painting n snacking. Have to admit both have done me in..haha
See you all tomorrow.
Hugs all round,
Elaine

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
We are having a really good dose of rain now. We were suppose to get a lot last night but there was next to nothing and as we have had so little rain, I worried that the weather men got it wrong again. Well, we are getting it now
Sorry Patti, that another one of your com padres passed away. That must be tough.

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
Patti, hugs to you and your neighbors!!
We had a little excitement in the neighborhood tonight. . .3 firetrucks from 3 different towns for the house across the street. They were checking the AC when they were leaving, so guess they will have to get the AC man out here tomorrow to detect the cause for the smoke. Bless their hearts!!
Well, tomorrow is finally the Golf Tournament! I will have to be up and at them on the run in the morning! I will do my part from about 9:30-11:30 and then stay the rest of the day to help in other areas. Will have to leave early and meet my students that help us at the Mission House around 4. We are open on Tuesday, too!! A very busy week and then Monday will go back for the Game Day for the ladies.
Our minister greeted me at the door one day last week, as I went by the Church to pick up the lady that sells the tourney with me, with his arms around me and telling me how wonderful I was, etc. I told him that I did not care what it was. . .the answer was, "NO!" It turns out it is when the Art Show is getting ready. . . The old saying is that if one is a busy person, ask them to do more work! I mentioned several others that were not as busy, but could help and he got someone else. I hugged her very tightly and told her that I really appreciated her willingness to help! She just glared. . .
Peep, can hardly wait to see all the 'fantabulous' paintings!!
Kay, you picked such a neat challenge!! Thanks!!
Katherine

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
Morning All,
Katherine -
Think they all must read that same page in the 'getting parishioners to help' manual..haha He wasn't wrong tho you are wonderful and yes it does seem those that are the busiest always can do more..haha My pastor called me the other day for something, also telling me what a fabulous job I've done with the scheduling..hahaha think he had been on vacation cause when I said well ya know Father I don't do that anymore, he just repeated well you did a wonderful job with it, followed by a request..haha Gotta give em credit they know who to ask..LOL Good luck with the Tourny, no point in saying I hope you have good weather for it right, haha
Very wet morning here again, don't mind the rain just a bit still cold that is not my favorite thing to be..haha But I will attack my painting again today, won't finish in time tho, even a surprise to me cause I have been diligent, just to dang fussy maybe..haha well that's a given... I need 'loose' lessons!
Okay no time for yakkin'..haha yeah right..haha
So I will catch ya all later.
Hugs all round,
Elaine

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
Hi all,
Meggs, that paintings looks wonderful! Don't get worried about missing the PP this month, you've got enough to do with your daughter's paintings and I'm sure you'll be back invigorated and totally revved-up next month.
Patti - Sorry to hear about all the neighbours.
Elaine - Yes, that's the time to be wary, when someone begins to tell you what a fab job you've done with something!
Katherine - Dittio for you too Katherine! I laughed when I heard about you giving the person a hug and the glare you received!
Carol - I finished your kitten, didn't turn out as well as I hoped but at least it was "postable".
Well, I fell over our very well loved, old and deaf little Jack Russel "Drum", so I've done my knee and upper leg an injury and I'm in a full-leg brace and on crutches at the moment. I'm going to Pyhsio so am gradually coming right tho. Can't deal with all this sitting around with my leg up...all this in-action...not my style at all. Resting my leg is driving me crazy, so it better hurry up and come right.
It's Wednesday 25th TOMORROW for me here in New Zealand...whohoo! Will give me something to do, posting for the Plant Parade.

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
Viv! what an awful thing to happen (poor little dog, bet he got a shock too!) - no, but really, the shock will have given you extra aches and pains all over in addition to the leg - you really will just have to take more rest!
Get well soon.
Meggs - your daughter has good taste! Love this painting too - the petals look very 3D - almost like cut from thick stuff!
Don't fret about the PP - I'll have to take a step back too I think - got a lot of stuff to do that won't mix with paint!
Scanned and stitched my bigger 'in the spirit of...' painting - after all that work, I've gotta show it!

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
Hi all,
Oh Viv that's just awful, poor dog sure he wondered what the heck happened too.
Well I get the hating to sit with your leg up but the more you behave in doing that the sooner you'll mend.. Sounds like you took quite the tumble I am so sorry sweetie.
Meryl looks really cool!! Toothbrushes are too for lots of things, not so good in the direction department always but always fun. Don't think I'll be on time either but good news is there's always another 'month' in the wings..haha
Hi Maureen
Time to call it a night for me, I remember when I could stay up all night to paint.. not so much anymore, Will see you all tomorrow then.
Hugs,
Elaine

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
Viv, hugs and hugs!! So sorry for your spill and sending prayers of healing your way!! Yes, take it easy and it will mend lots faster!! Viv, the kitten is amazing work!! Carol needs to take a look!!
Meryl, I just love the painting and am still laughing about the toothbrush incident!! Would love to see your window. . .
Okay, Peeps, let's get this straight before the PP this month. . .I personally know the host next month and I, I mean she, wants everyone participating!! So, if you have graduation or Mother's Day plans, those are extra to the PP!! Okay, so, we are clear on all of that??? Good!! Wonder who will be the host??? I shan't tell. . .yet!! Carry on. . .
Elaine, how long did you have to keep your leg up after the accident?
The Golf Tournament was a huge hit today!! The weather was exceptional and that really helped!! Get this: I drove up to the gated community and told the guard, that I have never met, that I was going to the MH Golf Tourney. He asked my name and I told him. He said, 'Yes, you are the one that they told me not to let in!!' I looked at him and told him that I was SURE that bunch had told him that!! Sure enough, one of my friends told me that she had left him that message. . .friends. . .sometimes you have to wonder!! I took a few pictures on the course. . .beautiful day!!
Next Monday I go back for the Ladies' Game Day. It does not have to be a beautiful day (would be appreciated, though) because it is inside at tables of Maj-Jongg, Bridge, etc.
Maureen and Meryl, we will miss your beautiful works. . .but, next month. . .don't even go there, Girlfriends!!
I am off to bed. . .I am tired!! Agnes. . .!!!!! Where are you??? Hugs, Patti!!
Hugs, Katherine

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012
Viv you silly bugger, and Patti you too..... Glad Im not the only one accident prone. My sympathies to you both and hope a speedy recovery.... now do what your supposed to do and take it easy.
Noods how is that hand coming to.
Is ANZAC day here tomorrow our 25th for both Australia and New Zealand, where we honour our Men and Women who fought and are fighting in our forces.. Its like your Memorial Day and has special significance for our countries.
I got started on my other painting for Trace... she wants it all in greys... this is gonna be fun, like there is yellow grey, blue grey red grey etc etc....
Cheers Everyone
