The Plant Parade: a Forum Project April 2012

WELCOME TO APRIL'S PLANT PARADE "GARDEN GATES"

WE WILL BE EXPLORING GARDENS AND GATES IN PARTICULAR

WITH PHOTO REFERENCES FROM THE RIL, MORGUE FILE, OR MY OWN

There are few rules

Crop, enlarge, distort, play, manipulate a reference in any way you wish.

All media welcome - mixed if you wish

Discuss, banter with others about your choice(s), your successes, finds and/or difficulties in this thread, but reveal nothing until 25th April!

If you subscribe to the thread it's easier to keep up with it. So have fun and include an element of a gate with your foliage or flowers!

These lovely scenes are just a jog for your creative brain to use or make up your own. Better yet, paint your very own garden gate or embellish one you wish were yours

I'm glad you are all getting excited. Good grief, I had a spelling error in the post and just now seeing it, so that is corrected. Now off to see Maureen's gallery.

I love gates; especially white picket fences!
This should be fun!
Beautiful photos!

Re: The Plant Parade: a Forum Project April 2012

Our own gate is a barn gate but the flowers are too far along the drive to be as effective as these lovely references.
Hubby and I went for a walk around our village this afternoon to look for gateways with flowers beyond and photograph them. No luck because most people seem to have got rid of gates and have open-plan driveways!
Thank goodness for these colourful references.

Re: The Plant Parade: a Forum Project April 2012

Sure! One of the photos here is actually an archway over a gate, which is quite popular here. Most fences have a way in and out although it may not be called a 'gate'.

Glad you said that Kay - like Margaretta's neck of the woods, most gates here have vanished!
