Outside the Lines ~ April 2012 Chat Thread
HAPPY SPRING! If I was any good with the April Fool's thing, I would have started off with an April Fool's joke. But I am no good at all with that.  Spring, on the other hand, has me very excited. Here on the east coast, we've had a spring that has felt more like summer. Everything is blooming so early! (It's been nice to have some color for my picture-a-day project!) It's cooled a bit and feels more seasonal now, but everyone's gotten a jump on spring fever and working in their gardens. I have already cleaned all of the leaves and debris out of my flower beds. I'm itchin' to get the porch furniture out, too!

Happy April to everyone... Here in the Pacific NW still typical (read rainy) but the crocus and daffodils are out-such sunny spots on dreary days. I prefer the cooler temps myself so I don't mind as much, and I live for my colors in the pencil box =) I will be starting a new drawing in a day or so and hope to share with the community soon

Well here I am on a nice Sunday morning with my dog in my arms as I type and my hubby behind me enjoying the day! I lived in Oregon most my life Lizzdo, moved to California when I retired to enjoy the sunshine and have never looked back. I spend a lot of time at my station as my husband calls it because just to my left is my drawing board and frequently I swing around and lay some colored pencil down on a project. My current project I thought I had gotten the colors dark enough until I added black all around it and it paled the tones amazingly, so I went back and added more color. I do love my mornings drinking coffee reading the news and tinkering with my projects. All in a good day!

Spent the last night of March at a bachelor party with friends in Providence, RI so this morning I can't say which is more of a distraction: the obligatory morning after headache or the bright sunny day. I promised myself an update on my WIP on Monday so time to down some aspirin, get breakfast in my belly and get things rolling. Enjoy the day everyone!

Hah! Funny you ask - I've been trying to buy a magazine from the site for hours, but it's taking me in circles and not allowing me to .. think there's a problem with the website as I've tried 3 browsers, same results...

Just wanted to alert everyone that my Staples has a super battery operated sharpener on sale for $5 as a clearance item. I bought all 3 they had. It's a pink Omnitech. I use battery operated since I like to work outdoors in the beautiful weather.
It sharpens to a needle point, if you like that.

Thanks for the tip Robin. I like battery operated as well, since I often meet a friend at a coffee shop and we draw together. Hopefully I can get down to Staples soon.
Sunday was 75 degrees and bright sun, just enough to get the gardeners excited...and today it has been SNOWING non-stop. Welcome to spring in Colorado! Makes me want to watch "White Christmas" and hear Bing croon out some tunes. LoL.

Yeah, try not to be too envious of my snow! LoL. However, it is actually a good thing considering the recent forest fires out here.
