Re: April Landscape Challenge 2012

This is my try. I placed a large tee on the left side. It just seem right. Watercolor on 1/4 sheet Arches 300lb CP paper using Lukas and SOHO watercolor paints.

Re: April Landscape Challenge 2012

Hi All,

I have been lurking here since biblical times. I have jealously appreciated all the lovely and creative work that gets posted monthly. Congratulations to all of you who accomplish this regularly

So Hurray!!! I have finally posted something! I chickened out before trying the overhanging tree. Oil on a 8x10 canvas board. All C&C welcome.

Re: April Landscape Challenge 2012

msummers - nice vignette effect with the tree.
Perhaps the left could be a little less solid? - some holes for the birds to fly through?

cleo - this has a very definite Impressionist feel to it - nice work. Lurk no longer!

Re: April Landscape Challenge 2012

Guys, I was reading about this famous painter on the net - and then it came to my mind I could try to redo my river painting in his style. I really hope I didn't disturb his spirit with my mediocrity!

Dry pastels and charcoal on 30x20 cm. paper.

Re: April Landscape Challenge 2012

Steveoreno- Its not Euclid Beach or Edgewater Park, and it looks pretty good to me,including your treatment of the water.

Cleo99- Maureen has made the call on this one.

Frujin- I like them both

msummers-The left tree looks like it is needed for balance to me also.

Regards,
Trier

Re: April Landscape Challenge 2012

Frujin - Van gogh would be delighted

Meryl - my little CP sketch is there at post 88 - sometimes WC takes a long time to open things - at least it was for me yesterday!

Re: April Landscape Challenge 2012

Maureen - nice quick sketch
Trier - great job on rocks and waterfalls
Frujin - both works are great, the one with pastels has a "starry night" energy
Msummers - nicely done
Cleo99 - great job
