Talking The Greenies' Room: April 2012

G' afternoon one and all in the shed here!
Busy pottering cos Spring is supposed to have sprung, but being English and in England, the weather has taken a nosedive and it's freezing again!

Even forecasting some white stuff for Wednesday - back to covering up and bundling up with winter woollies

Can hear DH switching kettle on - lunch beckons. Back later

White stuff! No, no, no. Supposed to have yellow and purple and red and lilac and all those springy colors. We actually had a bit (little bit) of rain yesterday. When it is so dry every little bit counts.

Hi everyone, welcome to April... and hopefully good weather wherever you are.

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012

Ah - I'll not be alone then Jean!

Incidentally J., further to your prisma in your specs? - DH also has that problem - double vision without his specs - one image is NE and the other is SW He's having a cataract removed later this month - so that'll be new specs

My eyes were OK after exam last week - but slight deterioration in close vision - new specs needed for me too, when I have time

Patti - I saw your post about breakfast and a beautiful view and no camera - do you always go out for breakfast? My mornings are lazy - to the shop for the paper (3 mins), breakfast and then sun lounge to read paper and do sudoku - maybe a bit read of book ......... eventually stir myself to do the chores!

Gotta think about dinner now - yuk!

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012

Good luck to your hubby Maureen, Do the prisms correct your hubbys vision?

I had one cataract removed about 30 years ago and because I was so young they wouldn't use an implant so I wore a contact lens , all worked well with contact untill a couple of years ago I had an implant put into my other eye and they figure I had a stroke at that time and thats what caused my vertical double vision , so am so hoping the prisms will work

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for getting us up and running again Maureen!!

Oh Agnes you are tooo funny, could be he just knows you all too well and your sense of humor..hahaha I wish I had thought of that...good April Fools gag and I could have tied a bow around it and said Happy Anniversary dear....roflol. Would take him a minute tho..haha then he'd remember my age...LOL

Hi Jean do hope everything works out well cutie!

Hi Maureen

but slight deterioration in close vision
I think that's exceptional you use your eyes a lot and to only have slight deterioration for close vision good for you. Mine went south early on..haha

Meryl hugs kiddo, glad that you're going back to work, happier still that everything is fine enough that you can. Think I'll take a peek over in landscape too...not to worry sweetie sometimes things just don't go as planned and sometimes the plans change because of it, which ever way it goes nice to have people who care and charity isn't the word, it's love.

~
We were actually told the other day it was supposed to snow overnight, never did. But it got cold again and now it's pouring out. I seem to be going with the 5 day thing for having whatever it was we all had, I got up, went to Palm Sunday Mass, which is a bit longer then normal ones, got home and still felt a whole lot better then yesterday, oh my goodness was in bed again all day.

I have a pork roast in the oven, figured wouldn't tempt it and go out to dinner just in case... Here's hoping anyway with this see-saw germ.
Time to drag out the eggs again..haha Jess wants to paint them too so I told she could do an ostrich egg and that should keep her busy enough to satisfy her..haha Not today tho sometime Sat., always fun with that kid.

Well I should check the roast and if I have a little time maybe do some sketching of ideas. Have a great rest of you day..whatever day you are in.

See you all later,
Hugs all round
Elaine

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012

Happy April, Peeps!! Looks like you are bringing the weather to some kind of closure and move on to the next season! It is beautiful here. . .remind me of that in July!

Today I released a trapped bird (Sparrow) on our way to have lunch after Church. It was caught in a scrub that had a vine going through it and after many attempts of trying to twist his way out, he had gotten caught upside down with one claw trapped! He didn't care if I had on my Superwoman cape, I scared him, and he bit me!! With the help of someone that had scissors, we freed him from his peril! When I released him, he did not even look back, but I felt 10' high! It's the little things in life. . .

We have a packed week during Holy Week at our Church.

Looking for a Garden Gate. . .have you gals seen one? I have some ideas, just not the 'project'!!

Agnes, I am still laughing!! You are so entertaining!!

Hugs, Katherine

No to the breakfast out every morning. We had a coupon for "buy one get the second free" so we couldn't turn it down. We go for a 2-mile walk with Buttons every morning about 6am after which we feed her and us breakfast. Then read email while finishing my OJ and the rest of the day depends on what I/we feel like doing. Sometimes chores or the weeds call, and sometimes I try to ignore them.

Funny one Agnes, but I don't think it would work at my age. I thought Red Lobster had a funny one too, they posted on Facebook that they were doing away with Cheddar Bay Biscuits and going to serve sliced plain white bread from now on. Didn't figure that would happen either... this morning they said April Fool.

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012

Completely forgot about April Fool yesterday - huh!

Agnes - that's a hoot .............. mmmmmm, now what have you been up to!

Glad you're feeling better Elaine - posted an anniversary congrats over in Acrylics - what the heck, will post here too

Katherine - watched some Golf from Texas - didn't see you doing your bit though!
Well done you rescuing the ungrateful little spuggy!

Elaine - eyesight - it's all relative! The slight deterioration is from where it was 2 years ago Still, long distance sight is still pretty good and the specs I wear for the computer are the first reading ones I bought 20 years ago! They're nice and BIG! - no good for reading print, but great at the distance to the screen

Looked for garden gates in RIL yesterday - not a lot! Will take camera out and about as soon as the weather cheers up again.

Hugs

Re: The Greenies' Room: April 2012

Maureen, double bubble thank you!! My glasses are hideously large..haha the grand kids make fun of me all the time but I don't like catching the rims in my line of vision or the sides, drives me nuts. If I could have gotten them bigger I would have and I've been wearing the same script for about 20 years so maybe I'm not as bad as I think, just started sooner needing to see all that detail I always had my nose in..haha

Patti going out for breakfast is probably my most favorite meal to have out, '2 fer' well definitely can't ignore that I agree.

Hi Katherine, ahh it's a good feeling and you were right to feel 10' high.
Holy Week is busy for me too, have a blessed one. I'm hoping our weather will be a lot nicer and soon, supposed to be in the 20's tonight. My son is probably snickering at us..haha

The day went well, did mostly sorting in my studio so once I take out all the bags full of stuff I chucked it's time to go sit in another room..haha and shut down for the night. See you all tomorrow.

Hugs all round,
Elaine
