Re: CP Art Exchange - Would You Participate?
Thanks to everyone who has replied that you are interested!
George, thank you so much for the offer of assistance! I am just helping to coordinate as needed; the forum moderators are running the show. Sorry if I made it confusing. Thanks for contributing ideas!
Mado, good suggestion on the ATCs, and maybe something we can consider for a future, special-theme swap. Seeing the posts from our Mods, it sounds like details on the sizes are yet to be determined.
Donna:
- No comments and critique involved, this is just for fun. The purpose is that you get the additional motivation and inspiration of creating a piece for someone else, and then you get an original colored pencil artwork in return.
- As for how to pick the pairings: the other exchanges I've been involved with (like on the portrait forum) simply drew names. Our cp forum moderators could decide to change things up, but luck of the draw is generally how it is done.
Thanks everyone for giving suggestions and feedback!

Have to apologize as it looks like I inadvertently caused some confusion.
The way I worded the initial post indicated a "trade" or "swap". I had assumed that was how it would work...see there, that is why I should never assume things!
To everyone, keep in mind, all the logistical details are still in the works...this thread was just to gauge interest. Assuming we have a good amount of interest, a new thread will be used to actually start the exchange, and that thread will contain all of the rules and logistics.

Ohhhhh....I see, sort of a gifty thing! That sounds lovely..yes, I'm in! Drawing names sounds the way to go...sorry if I got all convoluted there, I didn't really understand why we were doing it (I'll go click your poll, now)
thanks for the explanation,
cheers

Re: CP Art Exchange - Would You Participate?
Definitely sounds like fun, and I'd love to join in as long as the size is on the smallish side - I just don't have time for anything much over 5" by 7" at this point. I used to be part of a group that did something like this in watercolour, 4 times a year, for several years. It was lots of fun, and while I'm not in a position to commit to an ongoing exchange like that at this time, a one time swap would be super.

Great! More folks willing to join in the fun.
The good news is that we have a lot of interest, and I have the ok from Elaine to get the ball rolling.
So please WATCH FOR THE NEW THREAD, in which we will start the exchange. Getting my ducks in a row, but you will see it soon.

Ed, Glad you are up for it, and I know you will do well!
Jolanda, no problem at all. We'll be asking that all participants be willing to ship internationally. Info on sized will be posted in the new thread.

Re: CP Art Exchange - Would You Participate?
I love exchanges, etc. and already am the very proud owner of fabulous art from colored pencil artists on this very forum!!
Let me throw a monkey wrench in for fun...what about secret pal? I just loved the secret santa one I did a few years ago.
Only Candle would know who was getting from whom.
If it is small...5 x 7 or smaller, I will participate!

Re: CP Art Exchange - Would You Participate?
Hi Robin!
I think that is a fun idea, (I love secret santa too!) but I'm not sure how to work it this time around. Mostly because if folks want to do pet or people portraits, they will need to contact their recipient to get a ref, things like that. But perhaps for a future exchange when we pick a theme (like landscapes or something), that could work. Thanks for the ideas, and hope you participate!

Re: CP Art Exchange - Would You Participate?
Hey folks, since a thread for the exchange has been started, I am going to close this thread. You can discuss the particulars of the exchange here in the new thread.
