Re: Horse - Watercolor

I agree on the eye...well done...

Perhaps the shadow below the eye is a bit too pronounced.

Pretty darned good for your frst horse! They are not easy to get the anatomy correct.

I especially can relate since I am working on a horse watercolor right now...

Re: Horse - Watercolor

Very good, Peggy.. perhaps the neck needs a little more muscle tone.. I am thinking it's just a bit flat.. and the horse's left ear looks smaller than the right.. however these are small issues. I like th shine on his forehead. I want to give him an apple!

Re: Horse - Watercolor

I think for your first horse in this medium(WC) it's wonderful!!!
As to small critique, I would agree with the slight changes made by others. The ear is what is drawing my eye the most, but maybe a not too difficult fix?

I really appreciate the feedback!
Even though this is signed, I have broken my cardinal rule and am making adjustments. Maybe that rule doesn't apply to paintings . I will look into the suggestions posted here
Thanks again!

Re: Horse - Watercolor

Oh my goodness, that is much better!!! And it probably wasn't that hard to correct, was it? Wow I am proud of you. I also hadn't realized this was your first watercolor horse. Now I am even more impressed!!

Re: Horse - Watercolor

Thanks FaeLynn for your help! I agree with you completely
Yeah, I was introduced to watercolors when I took an elective art class in 2005. Then when the class was over, so was WC because life got in the way I've only painted one other animal and that was my final for the class. It was a Tiger. This was my first but hopefully it won't be my last
