Re: Wolf #4

Well done, I like this one the most so far. And can see you improving with each one. How long did it take to complete this? Hope to see more from you.

Re: Wolf #4

I also like this the best so far. The pose is very nice, and the green in the fur is more balanced.

I like it also.. especially the forest. I so cant do landscapes. I would also be curious how long it took you.. there is a lot of detail there in the fur and green areas! Nice job!!

Re: Wolf #4

Really like the use of color...love how the warmth plays off of the coolness in the color. Some of it gets lost but easily found after looking at it, Great work

Half a paw off, as the green in the background is a bit too bright (to my eyes). Love the dreamy look of the wolf's eyes!

I like the pose, too. It looks almost as if the viewer would share the view of the wolf.

Re: Wolf #4

love the wolf. love his expression. he's just terrific.

the green is too green imo. using the same colors in the background and foreground make you pic look flat. for more depth take away the saturation of the trees in the background. grey them up some and lighten them up. also your grass does not recede for the same reason.

Re: Wolf #4

Thanks for the adivise. I'll work on that.
I really don't know how long it took to do it. I'd work a few hours a day, and then get kind of burned out and go work on something else. So that way it was over a week. (and counting as I go back to kind of gray out the trees)

Re: Wolf #4

I know wolves are probably not supposed to be sweet but this one is- as soon as I saw it I went Aawwww...

I too love the expression you have captured and I think the foreground grass is really well done. Another option for making the background recede more is to put a wash of a mid too dark blue over it, as blue is a cool colour it makes things appear further away and hot colours bring subjects forward.

Anyway, I haven't seen any of your other work but if this is anything to go by I am in for a treat when I do

I love his expression. He's resting, but definitely still alert!
