Re: What's On Your Easel....March 2012

Welcome to What's on Your Easel for the month of March 2012!

If needed, please remember to place the butt icon.

Please post your oil paintings that you are currently working on or have just finished.

Everyone is welcome to post in this thread - Newbies and experts, as long as the work is in oil paint!

For the most part, this is a “show and tell” thread, if you would like more detailed help or critiques, the main oil forum would be the place to post and ask

Re: What's On Your Easel....March 2012

I've started this yesterday. It's still life of a rose in a traditional clay pot, pieces of lapis lazuli in a small basket and a green apple.

I'm devoting 1 hour a day to it's development.

Re: What's On Your Easel....March 2012

Thank you Becca

It's nice to see what's on fellow artists' easels. Why not keep the thread and future threads of April, May, etc as a sticky? so that they appear in the top. Just like "Learning from the Masters" thread.

Re: What's On Your Easel....March 2012

Hi, I was here a long time ago, and vanished for a few years... but i'm getting hooked into checking in again at what everyone is doing.

alhajri, nice pottery, just lovely. I've been playing with clay lately and if it looks like that, i'd be happy as!

I have a few on easel lately... so look forward to sharing soon... it's getting abit boring just my canvas and myself... time to share the process. It's a long journey sometimes...

Re: What's On Your Easel....March 2012

I'm working on this still life. I found nice ref in our Ref. Library. Yeah, I know it's a shame to paint still life from photo... but still it's a valuable excercise. The biggest challenge is to paint all those little grapes! So if you see grapes, it's not so bad... I changed colours and some detailes. The original ref you can find here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...hp?photo=38254
(thank you for ref Shelley Grund!) My photo wasn't made in daylight, sorry.

nice setup Dominika. I didn't know of the wetcanvas library. There are some nice still life photos there.

dominika, it is fine to work from whatever reference you choose. You have a nice start.

Re: What's On Your Easel....March 2012

Hi all, I started a new guitar today; got the background in, and blocked in the fingerboard. This one is going fast, it's 18" X 36". I have wanted to do a vertical like this for a long time.

Started this a couple of days ago. Need another layer before I go into the dead layer.
