Misty May
Hi, This is a large scale 36x40 oil on canvas. It is the narrow rainy road I often take to go into town (Morin Heights, Quebec). I love the morning mist, the best part of a rainy day.. C+C welcome.

Re: Misty May
I'm impressed by the way you painted that large, flowering shrub. It's just interesting to see all the varied branches and foliage colors/masses. I also like the fact that you painted a misty day using soft purples and greens instead of more grayish colors. It lets you show the mist without losing the soft, colorfulness of spring I think. Thanks for posting this one.

Re: Misty May
I like the fact that you used lilac tones rather than gray to depict a misty day. Rather than being gloomy as wet rainy days often are, this is easy on the eyes and restful. Thanks for sharing.

This one is a beauty. Love the delicate brush work throughout the piece.

Re: Misty May
Hi Judiith, I thought I posted before - not here now?.
Beautiful scene, truly. Really like the fog/misty atmosphere you created and how the white tree stands out. Very nice use of muted colors.

Re: Misty May
Hi Mary, you are right. In error I posted it first in the still life forum, so I reposted it here. Then, still life moderator transferred it to this forum so I ended up having two listings.

Re: Misty May
I really like this and I am sure at it's actual size its even more impressive. It has an abstract quality to me, since the subjects in the painting all seem to merge but are occasionally separated by delicate dashes of varying colour, and the tree/bush in the foreground has just enough pop to make it a focal image.
