Cross posted from current Weekend Drawing Event in the AMAE forum:
16×12 watercolor on 140 lb Arches cold press paper done Saturday afternoon . I managed to go over the 2 hour time limit by 4 minutes. The pristine white hollyhocks take center stage as they guard the garden. Look closely and you can see orange tiger lilies peeking through at center bottom. The old fashioned, tall stately blooms never cease to put me into an hypnotic state almost.
    C&C welcome :cat:

Wonderful Kay. The orange splash toward the bottom and carried through to the center of the hollyhocks puts a stroke of life into this work.

This is sooo gorgeous. You captured the light so beautifully. I can certainly see this displayed in a gallery somewhere. Thank you for taking us on your hypnotic journey. You can feel it. Big congrats from my part.

Kay, just love this one, so colorful and beautiful. Reminds me of an ATC card you sent me recently from another challenge we had.

Wonderful! Amazing what happens sometimes when you have a time constraint. Makes the focus and intensity produce an emotional and well conveyed piece. Beautiful colors working together.
