Re: May Watermedia Challenge

CaliAnn - Thanks for Hosting the May Challenge. Beautiful photos!

Poor little Lil Lulu! How can people be so cruel! It always makes me feel so angry and sad when I hear how some humans treat animals.
All credit to you for having the patience and extending your love to a lovely cat who had certainly not deserved the treatment she'd received previously before you found her!

Christel: That is so beautiful! I love the trees, the movement in the clouds and the stillness of the water - gorgeous painting!

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

I love your take on your own kitty, CaliAnn, she looks so happy in this pose and I your treatment of her fur is excellent

Christel, the water and trees here look so realistic and makes the viewer wish he/she were there. A most serene and well rendered painting

I did Lil Lulu in Crayon watercolor pencils on Ecosystem sketchbook 9.5x7, so here is the first dry version. I'll add water then post that one after it dries.

Her markings are identical to a rescue named Taco Belle I had for years who resembled a Maine Coon.

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

That is so awesome Kay - my new favorite - I love her! (and of course, how you painted her) I've never used watercolor pencils - it's interesting to see how you did it - what brand did you use?

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

Cali Ann - Beautiful Lil Lulu!

Christel - Wow you've made a beautiful job of the landscape - love it! Is it watercolor with Gouache or completely Gouache?

Kay - Another beautiful version of Lulu. Both are entirely different and both are gorgeous.

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

Oh Cali what a heartwarming story about your Lulu & your painting is also straight from the heart, beautiful. Cristel I also love your take on the landscape, great job. Kay another great portrait of Lulu. Paintings mean so much more when there's a story behind them.
I am working on a client commission at the moment so a bit slow getting started on this months challenge.

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

An impressive start for this challenge.

Kay and CaliAnn, I think you both captured Lulu's gentle gaze.

Christel, I love the water scene ... lively and relaxing at the same time.

Sandy, great bug!
