Sandie: You've been a busy girl! Your seascapes are lovely - not sure which one I prefer. Your Cockatoo is awesome - you also captured his character - love him!

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

Sandie - Beautiful Lake landscape! Very calm, and peaceful atmosphere. A serene painting!

I'm Hosting the June Watermedia Challenge, so I'm just sorting out my photos now. Isn't it strange that the one particular photo you know you've got...and particularly want....you can't find!!!!!

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

CaliAnn – thank you for hosting and a great selection of photos. Sorry I’m so late posting.

I love your Lil Lulu! -- great background for her. You managed to make the pigeon elegant. I love those colors.

Christel – great job with that landscape – lovely serene setting.

Kay – nice job with the cat.

Sundie – Wow – love that car! Nice job with the lemons. Great job with the marbles and I’m amazed at how well they came out with w/c pencils. I think you’re being too hard on yourself. I think they’re great. Wow, you’ve been busy – I love the dog! Beautiful ballerina also I love the portrait! And the Venice scene is well done. I like the sky and water reflections. Nice handling of the building with line work. Your little house and flowers are well done. Your flowers are pretty too. Well done on the row boat also. Your flowers are beautiful. This was my favorite also. Nice work on the wet on wet landscapes and cockatoo. And the landscape is well done also. My, you have been busy.

Merriwether – another elegant pigeon! Nice work. I love the landscape – beautiful sky.

Marianne – wow – you ‘ve done such a great job with the floral. And the boat and seascape is great. You chose the same two paintings I did. So far.

Coldpress – nice soft watercolor of the lemons.

Calvin – nice job with the little house/flowers and your landscape is well done.

Monarch – nice job with the lemons!

Vivian, nice job with the flowers. They came out perfect with the pencils.

Sanlynn—nice work with the cockatoo – he’s set off nicely against that dark background.

Esther, beautiful floral also. I think it’s perfect.

Both are watercolor, 9 x12 inches on Arches 140 lb paper.

Bunny: Your flowers are gorgeous - those colors are sooo vibrant! That rowboat is fantastic and the reeds are particularly well done. Both are beauties. I'm glad you joined in - better late than never!

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

Hi! all, I'm just catching up from the weekend away!

Viven, good to see your painting , I like the inktense and its blending on the petals worked well in contrast to the soft background! looking forward!

Christel, a mighty pigeon, great coloring on the feathers, goo "eye contact"!

San Lynn, cockatoo, nice toning on the featering, not east to do!

Esther, lovely flowers and coloring very ethereal!

Calvin, your pon is very atmospheric

Bunny, Great color choices on your flora and row boat

Sandi, all your gazillas were softly done w the pencils and the row boat had great tone w a dusky feel. your two waterscenes were interesting and your pond was serene!

CaliAnn your pictures were so good and well represented in this challenge! thanks

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

A pretty and tranquil scene, Sandie, love its quietness.

Bun, love your vivid, striking floral colors that are so bold. Your boat is perfectly rendered, too, both well painted in wc.

Re: May Watermedia Challenge

I might add the word daily to the practice idea. Daily sketching or painting even if for 5 minutes will add so much for technique as well as self confidence.
