More From the Door County Plein Air Festival

Hello,
Here are a couple more pieces painted in Door County.

14x18"

10x8" Girl. This 7 year old girl stood for me during the Sunset paintout, that is one of the major events of the festival. All artists gather by a bit of lakefront and paint for a few hours late in the afternoon. The paintout was followed by a great jazz quartet (coolest high schoolers I've met), crab cakes, and wine. It was a very well put on event. Dan Corey painted a undenyable composition of the back of my head while I painted this, phenomenal colors.

Thanks for looking
Kyle

The first is very attractive. I especially like the green in the reflections in the water.

The second is a marvel to me. I could not have gotten my kids at seven to stand still long enough for a photo, let alone a painting. Did you specifically choose to have the sun's reflection directly behind her? It turned out well, almost providing the child with a halo.

Great work in color, value, and simplification! I really like the light in the backlit girl- the shimmer of the water-

Hi Kyle,

Neat stuff, The one of the girl is very interesting, that strong vertical cutting through the painting is quite effective. Nice mudhead or mudfigure?
