There seem to be quite a lot of silent views here. I love the quiet crowd.September 3, 2018 at 2:55 pm #684760Lovely. Are you painting over a texture ground on the paper? I am just curious, is there a story behind the headdress and priestess title?
September 3, 2018 at 6:47 pm #684759Very nice ! I like the color of the gloves.

- C&C always welcome -September 4, 2018 at 12:01 am #684749Thank you guys.
I paint over older paintings of my own (almost always…..), hence the texture.
Btw, this one was already in a frame behind glass when I took this shot. So there are a couple of reflections there.
As for story, it’s up to the viewer to make it up.September 4, 2018 at 2:33 pm #684756Well, Hairy, when you run out of superlatives it’s hard to think of anything to say. They’re all exceptionally good and enigmatically engaging. Sometimes a little scary but most often evoking concern for the vulnerable looking players.
This character doesn’t look vulnerable to me.
Has no one else noted the reptilian three-fingered hands?
You paint over old works? I’m shocked they didn’t find buyers.
A painting is never really done as long as I can get my hands on it.

Boa, thanks.September 8, 2018 at 11:25 am #684747What Cliff said echoes my thoughts.
This is another evocative piece.
Your work has the feel of a reinvention of the Greek tragedy. I am reading a book on the Trojan War at the moment and I can just picture this woman in the role of Cassandra.

September 10, 2018 at 12:40 pm #684741Exceptional, again!
Like Clifff and Colin, I noticed the hands and the ‘attitude’ ….. definitely not a lady to mess with, she’s already contemplating her next victim!!!Cheers, Maureen
