Re: Portrait of Duke,German Shepherd, WIP

This is looking fabulous! I like seeing how different artists paint. Some put the eyes in right away and some wait until later.

You are right on with the colors of this breed. He looks so much like my dog I used to have years ago.

Looking awesome!!

Duke,German Shepherd,WIP,update

Firstly Iplaced in the highlights with a light blue grey, then worked in the dark greys surrounding highlight, lastly i placed in Brown-earth to complete the eyes.My apologies to the moderators for having to amend my wip thread as i still having problems uploading new image even when going onto advanced tab.

Next i worked in the nose using a variety of dark browns after i placed in the highlight with light cream, followed by mouth and then the tongue.

Excellent, what kind of paper are you using? I wish my dog portrait looked nearly as good. Love the detail work on this. Do you blend any? james

No problem, Mark, I've merged the threads for you. Sorry to hear your having upload problems, there seem to be a glitch somewhere - lets hope our tech team can fix it for us.

Your Shepherd is looking fabulous! Beautiful eyes, I'm glad to see you put them in. Love the fur, great color choices. Wonderful detail work too!

No problem, Mark, we're happy to help.

Gorgeous portrait, everything is so beautifully done! The fur is excellent - very realistic. The eyes - excellent, and so is the mouth/nose are. And you've topped it all off with an excellent collar. Very well done!
