Srebrenica

This is one of four panels I am working on. The subject is the Srebrenica massacre in Bosnia during their civil war. Each panel is 5x7. My intent is to "tell a story" with each panel building on the next.

Re: Srebrenica

Patrick, thanks for the comment. This is a tough subject. I'm keeping my eyes open for art shows in the area where this theme might be appropriate. The "Torpedo Factory" art gallery here in Alexandria has a show coming up on the theme of upheaval (conflict, famine, etc) but unfortunately the medium is photography. I'm sure one will come along.

Wonderful Art. Good luck on finding a venue, this art should be on display. The series can be very powerful.

I always hesitate to look at your work because I know that I am going to be emotionally moved. If you gauge work by making the seer "feel" something, you are such a success.
I am brave to the world but gentle inside (I can't even watch humane society ads). Even so, I agree the story should be told so that people should know they need to stop what they do.
I just struggle with looking. Although I do look, and you are to be admired.

This is how I feel about your work too, Rich. Ginger said it well. Your work is very powerful and it certainly touches the souls of those who view it.

Re: Srebrenica

Rick, Harry, Ginger, Pamela, Ann, Margaret: thanks for taking a look at the piece and the support. These are certainly tough subjects that are difficult to view. I've finished three panels and almost done with a 4th. I am adding a 5th panel as well. Hope to post them soon.
