Welcome to the March Monthly Challenge!
We welcome all mediums and skill levels in this challenge, so please feel free to join us. If you’re new, jump right in – the more the merrier. If you’re returning, welcome back! Glad to have you!
I’ve chosen a selection of photos both from the Reference Image Library, and also from my own photos. I hope they serve to inspire you to grab your paintbrushes or pencils (or pens or pastels or clay or colored pencil or…you get the idea…)! Please comment on one another’s artwork, but don’t give any harsh critique unless requested by the artist. Use the images any way you wish, crop them, change the compositions, mesh multiple images together, just have fun! Looking forward to seeing what you all share this month! Happy creating!

Beautiful wildflowers (photo by Chia) I can’t be the only one who’s almost starving for spring and green grass and warm weather!
And finally, a photo of one of my cats. The snow and cold continues, and the snowflakes resting on her plush fur looked so pretty, though I’m sure she’d rather have spring too!

March 4, 2019 at 1:03 pm #789890Christel, I am so glad you’ve found inspiration in the photos. You’ve done a beautiful job on the cat! She is somewhat of a feral cat, and I’ve never once been able to pet her…she’s independent and rugged, and you’ve captured that quality in your painting. Great expression, and the fur is excellent. It looks both fluffy and a little bit wet from the snow. Very effective! Well done!
