Inspired by “Cattle Baron” a 1968 Women’s liberation promotional poster designed by Studio One, USA. I constructed the image using found elements, and morphed the earth onto her butcher block diagramed body. “Cowgirl is stenciled with gloss black to punch contrast. Satirical, heavy hitting commentary about the objectification of woman?, the ruthlessly efficient commodification of the earth?, or innocuous and playful mixed metaphor? Dependent on time and place. If nothing else, she’s easy on the eyes. Lights up a room with light reflected off her massive hand sanded aluminum face.

She’s big, 5×5′. She’s distressed, like me. Dinged, scratched etc… When she sells, as I’d do for any of my pieces, I spend hours touching her up and giving her my best before shipping from my farm.
