Re: Finishing coat? Besides varnish?

I think anything not fixed on that painting should be washed off now? Maybe find a spray. Or just don't worry about it being perfect. Just slap that varnish on there.
C&C always welcome. Michelle

Every painting is a new adventure.

Re: Finishing coat? Besides varnish?

I sprayed it off the other one off this morning. I have no idea what could possibly have dissolved to run or bleed in the first place. I'm still trying to figure that out.

The polycrylic just seemed too thick. I'm not sure if I have enough of the Liquitex varnish to do both canvases. I read somewhere that the polycrylic can be thinned up to 15% so I may try 10% and seeing if that helps with spreadability.

Haha...that's what I was attempting when I noticed all the orange streaks yesterday, just slapping in on trying to get it covered. I'm going to try thinning the polycrylic and see how it works on some practice stuff. If I'm not happy with that, I'm definitely spraying. I actually stopped at yet another hardware store on my way home from the gym but they didn't have any spray polycrylic or anything waterbased in a spray. I'll be somewhere to find either that or at Michael's over the weekend if thinning doesn't work.
