Re: Fox portrait

Kat: Would you be willing to share some details regarding the supplies you use such as paper type, pastel brand, Fix (y/n), etc? Love the clarity of the subject juxtaposed with the soft background and whimsy of the floral. Really great! J

Very nice job, I love the softness of the background against the detail of the fur, just beautiful!

Re: Fox portrait

Thank you so much everyone - you are all so kind. Your support is really valued - truly.

Thank you Peggy - do hope you are keeping well and if the only thing I do with my art is inspire one person like you, that is precious enough for me!

Veronica and Kris - perfect, magical and genius - I wish!!! But it is most kind of you to let me fantasise for a day or two about such things

Japonaise - I will gladly share which materials I use. I use La Carte as a sanded support for the majority of my work and a mix of soft pastel sticks and pastel pencil. The pastel sticks are predominantly Daler Rowney and Unison. The pastel pencils are Daler Rowney, Derwent, Faber-Castell and some Cretacolor. Fixative is never used on my paintings and as I blend a fair amount and do not employ an underpainting either, the paintings don't tend to suffer from pastel powder drop. Hope this is useful to someone and wishing everyone very happy painting! Kat
