        This is a freehand digital portrait in Procreate on the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil. I used a sort of grisaille technique using layers. I haven’t used this technique with traditional oils, lack of patience is probably one reason for that. Using the rendering settings on the brushes I was able to match the tones of the grisaille as I built up the colours.
        The fresh face of the young subject (from a photo by Ottwork) suggested the pastel tones of Bouguereau though I didn’t consciously work towards that.

                    looks good. I dabble a bit in digital now and again. The colours are quite bright but it suits the subject nicely.
