thank you everyone for your kind comments.

with the composition i imposed a rule of thirds grid and tried to follow that.
the mans eye lies on one of the cross points.

the drawing was done with Faber Castell oil based pencils on watercolour paper. those pencils give very nice blacks.

the whole thing was coloured in photoshop.
