Trying to get ready for a show, I have been painting like a madwoman all week. It makes me crazy how I can see all the things I could've done better once I see the paintings on the computer screen, but I can't seem to see the same things on the actual canvas.

I prefer the second one Annabella. Probably because the more shadow and/or water in a painting the more the sunlit areas sing. If you spot problems on your paintings only when you have them up on the computer, then perhaps you are not stepping back far enough from them while painting. A painting viewed from say fifteen feet will look very different from one viewed at three feet.

These are both lovely. They both have the "right stuff". They're balanced and professional and will round out your show, I'm sure!

I really like the building. It add variety to a landscape selection.

very nice. don't go "crazy". checkout a picture or use a mirror of your painting before you finish it. seeing it differently will help you correct it. also we are always too critical of ourselves. these are very nice paintings. A very popular artist gave me some advice,"add life to your painting, such as: figures, birds, boats in action etc.
it all depends on what "you like and enjoy"

Thank you all, yes, I know we are our own worst critics- . I'm really enjoying my new green- ivory black + yellow. Can't believe I never used it before. Went out today and started working on a 24 x 30-. Darn thing kept trying to blow over on me. Will try to post that one when I finish it, hopefully tomorrow. Too gorgeous a day to stay in!
