I’m trying to determine the manufacturer of an easel I recently purchased locally. I paid $100 for it, which I already know is an incredible deal, but I’m trying to find out exactly [em]how[/em] incredible. Google image search hasn’t brought me any luck. I’ve poured over thousands of easel photos already trying to match the wood grain, the size of the clamp handles, the rubber stoppers on the upper and lower ledges, just to at least bring me to the manufacturer, all to no avail. Any help in this regard would be fantastic, thanks.
March 3, 2019 at 3:37 pm #792569looks like a fantastic easel. It is probably an unbranded model. I have a french easel that I got for a bargin, that has no names, no branding attached to it. I too searched for an exact model and found none. It could be any number of brands – number – more than one. “manufacturers” buy the “blank” change a handle or screw, stamp their name on it, then market it. This is common practice in virtually all manufactured goods.

STUDIOBONGOMarch 21, 2019 at 7:55 pm #792570A number of very good easels were made by top mfrs. as house-brand easels for various art suppliers over the years. Your looks like quite the find, …lots of feaures and adjustments.
I still have my mother’s studio easel that she used all through art school just after WW2., and it may be older than that. It’s all high-quality hardwood with bronze hardware.

Mine was made by my father from a photo I gave him. I have been using it for years and love it. Not a lot to look at but works really well.
I hope you find what you are looking for.
March 26, 2019 at 5:50 pm #792567Looks homemade to me. I made one similar to this by following some plans on instructables. While this one looks a little better than mine.. it is kind of a similar easel. Nice steal!
