Mount Si and Snoqualmie River (x-posted from Plein Air forum)

Hi folks,

Today was the annual plein air paintout event in my hometown, and this is the painting that I did. It is the largest plein air piece I've done so far - 11 x 14" - and is oil on panel. The view is looking upriver on the Snoqualmie River toward Mount Si, the peak that dominates our local skyline, although it really is only a foothill to the Cascade Mountains. I started painting around 10 and finished at 2, with a short lunch break in between. As always, there are a number of things I see now that could be improved, but overall I was pleased with it as a plein air piece.

I never get tired of these plein airs, John. I love this one. It is a vast, big scene and so nicely painted. Well done!

John, lovely. The pinky lavender and green complements look beautiful together.
