        Our July & August Portrait Challenge will feature works by the Spanish painting master, Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez, who was baptised on June 6, 1599 and died on August 6, 1660.

        He was the Royal Court painter and more information on his life can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diego_Velázquez

                                    Or would that be Nigh on impossible lol. Your funny , :D , I’m not sure …. I am liking that portrait of a little girl also and the portrait of a man 1630 …. Ill work in graphite or charcoal …need the practice …:o

                                        Portrait of a man would be my normal choice as its more refined and my sort of thing but I wanna slap the paint about a bit so mr pope is my challenge , might get my crayons out tonight and sketch abit , good choice on the charcoal study as many darks to play with

                                                        This one does look more like I’d expect the original painting to be. Thanks for posting it.

                                                        I welcome anyone to post up other references of these paintings — if you find one that looks better. I found most of these on the ARC website.
