I recently got my hand on old pastel journal back issues (right before they made the unfortunate decision to not feature any more oil pastels). I discovered an amazing artist using oil pastels to paint self-portraits (according to the magazine). However when I checked out the artist’s page, there was no mention of oil pastels. The same works that I had seen in the magazine as oil pastels, were mentioned as either pastels or oil.
The artist is Gaela Erwin: http://www.gaelaerwin.com/saints.html
Here are some links that mention that the works were done in oil pastel.

I’m not sure if the articles misclassified the work, or if the artist decided to advertise them as a different medium.
Are you aware of other artists who might be using oil pastels under a different name?
