Alfred Nobel, WIP

Alfred Bernhard Nobel was a Swedish businessman, chemist, engineer, inventor, and philanthropist. Nobel held 355 different patents, dynamite being the most famous. The synthetic element nobelium was named after him.
Known for inventing dynamite, Nobel also owned Bofors, which he had redirected from its previous role as primarily an iron and steel producer to a major manufacturer of cannon and other armaments.
After reading a premature obituary which condemned him for profiting from the sales of arms, he bequeathed his fortune to institute the Nobel Prizes.
This work is 20X16, Canford gray toned paper, using Panpastel, charcoal pencils and white chalks. Still WIP.

Another Moeasterpiece. hehehe ... sorry I'm a bit corny at times. Nice job though. Looks virtually finished from what I can see.

Nice to hear from you again Ken. Yes, but I have to fix the background a bit since for some reason there is an amorphous spot right above his head which had been caused by me touching the paper, I guess. Can you spot it? If you draw an imaginary vertical line from the pupil of his right eye and to go up you could see it. I tried to erase it but I decided to work around it with similar values in order to have a spotty background. In fact, J.D. Hillberry warned us against this problem when I attended his workshop.

Yes ... now that you point it out but the thing is we are all (at least I am) more picky about our work than perhaps we should be. Considering everything, that spot looks fine and doesn't actually stand out due to your decision not to use a solid value for the background. But I've had similar issues before and we have to do our best to cover such things over if we can. Got to make ourselves happy first.
