Lalo Schifrin - Black Widow the extended release. Has four additional cuts, three of which were recorded with George Benson.

And Joe Cocker’s version of McCartney’s “With a little help from my friends” from Woodstock 1969.
And from the same rock festival Ten Years After’s “I’m going home”.
I almost forgot CSNY (aka Crossby Steeles Nash and Young) - monumental music!
And check out “The last waltz”. Amazing stuff. With huge figures like Dylan, Neil Young, Ringo, Ronnie Wood, Neil Diamond, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Robie Robertson and the band, all one stage.
Pay special attention to Dylan’s masterpiece “I shall be released”.

Listening to Johhny Cash - Hurt. Which I find such a poignant lament to his life.

I'm listening to Enrico Caruso sing "Una Furtiva Lagrima" as well as many of his other performances.

He is so smooth.

Hey Derek, nice to know others appreciate K.D. Lang too. 🙂I find her last few albums very soothing. Besides her beautiful voice, she allows space to get into the music. To think, feel, contemplate. To just be in the music. The moment.
Right now, listening and loving The Hollies (as always). “Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress”. What a great song!

Re: What are you listening to . . . (reprise)

Speaking of Dereks, I've been revisiting the Dominoes.

The guitar hook on Layla is in my estimation the greatest in the history of rock. This is Clapton finally finding his own blues after so many years of playing other people's, strung out on heroin, desperately in unrequited love with his best friend's wife. It certainly isn't a place anyone would want to be in for long, but it produced the most honest work of his career. Love will do that to you.

Of course, after he finally got her, it wasn't long before he decided he didn't really want her after all. Just for a goof, I took Pattie Boyd's (ghostwritten) autobiography out of the library. She comes across as a pleasant, not tremendously bright woman who happened to be born exquisite, but never really understood what all the fuss was about.

I do, boy. And I can tell ya that.
