painter 11 question
watching painter 11 tutorials I notice that the tutor is spinning the work sheet to make is brush actions.
When I use rotate on this program I have to keep entering a degree figure number whereas the tutor seems to get free and quick rotates.
What is the tutor doing to get this action please?

Re: painter 11 question
My guess is the tutor is using the Rotate Page tool to temporarily rotate the entire image in order to paint and draw at a more comfortable angle.
To do this:
Click the E key (or click the Grabber tool icon, hold, then drag to display the Rotate Page tool icon, then click it).
On the image, click, hold, then drag the image to the angle you want.
To return the image to its normal, upright position, double-click the image with the Rotate Page tool.
To return to painting, click the B key.

Many thanks Jinny, that works perfectly.
I am new to Painter 11 and at the moment I am just using the 30day trial download from Corel, so I will obviously have to look up all the shortcuts.
BTW if anyone sees a bargain price offer on this program please PM me or post, I am a pensioner and the full retail price I cannot justify from a state pension. I think software suppliers should also offer a discount to our age group similar to the educational prices. I wouldn't mind if the program had a watermark or non printable condition, after-all I am never going to use it commercially, and Corel and others I am sure would then get greater sales totals with that in mind.

Thanks for letting me know it worked for you.
A word of warning:
Others may suggest that you look for Painter 11 at e-Bay, but I suggest skipping e-Bay. Though you'll see ridiculously low prices, most likely they're illegal (pirated copies).
Just try to find legitimate software or save your pennies 'til you can afford to buy it from Corel.
Or, if you buy a Wacom tablet, you may be able to get a good price on Corel Painter 11 with the tablet purchase. If you already own a Wacom tablet, contact Wacom to see if that will qualify you for discount pricing on Painter 11.
Good luck!
Jinny

Re: painter 11 question
Thanks again Jinny for your further reply.
Yes I have got a Wacom tablet,(Sapphire) but regarding price I will wait until Amazon or Corel email me with an offer, and if they don't I shall make do with other software on my PC.

Look on ebay. Sometimes you can even get sealed unopened software for a cheaper price. I bought a DVD by Richard Ramsey containing some wonderful helpful information for less than 2/3 of the regular price on his website. Terry

Re: painter 11 question
Does anyone know if Painters 11 has the ability to take an image from one photograph and put it into another to compose a picture?

Use a selection tool, lasso, or other selector tool, copy selection and then paste to a new scene like most imaging programs.
