October 13, 2019 at 12:47 pm #893531I love the atmosphere here. You always capture an era and a moment in your work – I love that about your style. I also love the compelling scene out the window. The soft portrait on the wall intrigues me too. I wonder…is it a painting, or is it a mirror showing the person we don’t see in the painting? Excellent work, Skylar!

October 14, 2019 at 11:52 am #893537Jenna – Thank you! You just caught Everything! Especially happy you commented on the “portrait”, as I wanted it to be both/either mirror or portrait. The idea it is the reflection is an added dimension.
October 15, 2019 at 11:15 am #893527Lots going on in this intimate scene. Always enjoy your reach back into time.

October 15, 2019 at 3:50 pm #893538Kay – Thank you! I spent my childhood in rural Arkansas. This was a fairly common event, and setting back then (early 1950’s) I feel like I connect with you when my family moved to New Mexico (my teens). As you can see now, I split the difference, and have settled back into rural Texas!
October 15, 2019 at 3:55 pm #893539Kay – Thank you! I grew up in rural Arkansas, where this was a common event (early 50’s). I feel kindred with you because we moved to NM in the 60’s. As you know, I have split the difference – now living in rural Texas.

This is also a memory. My grandma’s brother lived without electricity, or plumbing. We spent many weekends there. We always had baths in a large galvanized “tub” Saturday night, to be fit for church the next day, where he was the preacher.November 30, 2019 at 5:44 pm #893532Jo – Thank you!

Success is never found. Failure never fatal. Courage is the only thing.
Winston Churchill.December 4, 2019 at 3:12 pm #893534Jenna – Thank you! I seem to be doing more memory-based images. It is something I enjoy sharing (I used to be reticent about my very humble beginnings.) You will see more.
