Just practicing my drawing so I’ve drawn this from a photo from sight and there’s a resemblance but something’s off and I can’t put my finger on it. Is it the right cheek? mouth? Left jawline? Ugh

This contradicts what the other features are telling us about the orientation of the face. It needs to be clear that we are viewing the nose from (the subject’s) right.
C&C always welcome.

To begin with the face is a bit too wide. If you measure the length of his right end and compare with the width of the right temple you could tell the difference.
The angle and the size of the nose is discordant with the entire face, as Harry mentioned. The direction of the teeth is also a bit off.
One more thing: the triangle which is formed by the eyes and nose is a bit different. Again, these are very subtle changes since the likeness is there.
When I work on a face like this young man I use the proportional divider which is very helpful for the proportions and angles in the face.July 16, 2018 at 11:10 pm #658467Brilliant advice thank you so much is this closer ??
