        oils on wood panel,size 7 x 14 inches.
These small but hardy seabirds are European Storm Petrels, they spend most of their time out over the open Sea,only coming on to land to breed.Their thin little legs make it hard to walk on land but they are great for walking on the surface of a wave seeking food,They can be seen from the shore when a strong on-shore gale is blowing.

I don’t know what it is about this painting but I can’t stop staring at it…

itsospreadable…thank you for your comment,I can look at for a long time as well!,it may be that as the eye follows the downward slope of the wave, just as it leaves the picture the eye bounces back to the leading bird and the cycle starts again(pretentious BS),smiling.

the birds eye view really puts me in the painting.

I love this painting! There’s a lot of movement in it, I like how the line of birds crosses the outline of the wave. I love storm petrels, they are amazing to watch out at sea.

Neat! Kind of a 3D effect going there…

I love modern technology. I just don't want to touch it!....C&C welcome

Triduana…thank you,the last time i saw them at sea was about 3 years ago on a day trip from Liverpool to Llandudno .Local bird watchers look out for them from Ainsdale beach,as well as the more rare Leach’s petrel.
