Nicholas Simmons, a WetCanvas member at one time, was the first one I know of who put a photoshop filter on a photo then painted what he saw. He lived in DC and sadly passed away. It looks as though Weller does that filter thing too. It is effective but the paint is not blended or mixed.

January 9, 2018 at 6:01 pm #541017I had some classes where Don Weller was a guest instructor. He didn’t use Photoshop to modify images then, and as far as I know he does not do so now. His technique and style all came out of his head. A very nice fellow and a master painter of Western themes. He has been at it for a LONG time.
