No thanks. I will just about hit my LD50 for snow about Saturday morning when we get on the airplane home.

Re: Quick Dry Café - January 2018

Snow... A long time ago in a land far away (northen Ohio) we averaged 3 meters of snow a year. One year, after a prodigious Lake Erie snow, I sculpted Rodin's The Kiss - life sized - in the middle of our extensive lawn. After the effort made the local papers people would slowly drive by or stop to take fotos. I was goaded into lighting it at night. This show went on for more than a week, until a local official pointed out that there was a town ordinance against public art exhibits containing nudity.
My argument that neither Donald duck nor Frosty the Snowman wore pants was not considered a relevant defense at town hall.

How narrow-minded and downright mean-spirited some people can be Jim - especially hiding behind 'officialdom'!
I'd love to have seen the sculpture - Mr. Talent should be your name!

Re: Quick Dry Café - January 2018

So, after all these years I finally decided to pop in here and catch up on this month. I thought these things used to be started weekly. lol

We had so many days of -30 C, and worse, I'm surprised that the school buses were never cancelled. And then a day of freezing rain made everything icy and the snow hard. And it was still very cold after that, which made the dog more stubborn than usual. I wonder if the neighbours can sometimes hear me saying, "just poop already." Then a few days ago the temps shot up. Today it's -5 C. So warm! This whole winter has been too cold or too warm.

Aaand we are home. To DFW Airport, anyway. 58 degrees, and rainy. Susie is driving us home while I play on the laptop and look at scenery. Such as it is in Northeast Texas, lol.
